I've bought "Dreaming Of Revenge" long ago, then for unknown reasons lost track of her... even missed out on this new release, too... fortunately, "M.Foujita" was more vigilant and purchased it recently, and I won't hesitate, too. Kaki King is not only an incredible wizard on the guitar - she's a splendid songwriter as well. "Can Anyone Who Has Heard This Music Really Be A Bad Person?" is still alive in my head. On this impressing symphony for guitar, strings, and wind instruments, both of these talents of her's come into full bloom. Favorite track: Neanderthal (feat. Porta Girevole Chamber Orchestra).

trumPETER Kaki King manages to both frequently reinvent herself and yet stay distinctly recognizable; creating something uniquely her own and generously sharing it with us. I entered her world at "Dreaming of Revenge", had my mind blow (and impressively expanded) by "The Neck Is The Bridge To The Body" and this next incarnation promises to be an interesting step in the evolution, part of the growth of the artist, and dare I say her fans? She has my support for a long time to come. Favorite track: Magazine (feat. Porta Girevole Chamber Orchestra).

Kaki King releases her first album in more than two years, and once again she gives her fans something completely unexpected.

Kaki King Live at Berklee featuring the Porta Girevole Chamber Orchestra was recorded live at the Red Room at Cafe 939 in Boston on April 21, 2017 and features King performing new arrangements of her solo guitar compositions, reimagined with the addition of strings and woodwinds.

King, Tom Hagerman of Devotchka, Takuma Matsui, and Shereen Cheong wrote the arrangements specifically for the recording.

The Porta Girevole Chamber Orchestra is a 12-piece ensemble composed of Berklee students and faculty, conducted by student Gabriela Sofia Gomez Estevez.
